The history and workings of Dead Server 7 - Merl Sheepherder's home
Welcome to Dead Server 7. DS7 is a defunct server long abandoned by gamers who left behind a fantastical world of simple folk, goblins, elves, giants and many a magical creature! Even though the players have gone, the land still thrives and grows, or it did.
The Mercer has awoken. An evil and spiteful Lord, it is unclear whether the Mercer ever truly left, returned or was reanimated as a vile NPC with the powers of an old Lord. What is clear is the the lands of Dead Server 7 are in great danger, and if left unchecked, the Mercer will achieve his dream of ruling all unopposed.
Merl Sheepherder is a simple NPC, or is he? Merl can see letters over everyone's head. Buildings have a word and a number on to of their roofs. Sometimes, when a field is ready to harvest, a large star flashes above it. Merl is the only person who sees these things and unfortunately, as he can't read, he hasn't got a clue what any of them say.
Could Merl, a mere farmhand of questionable parentage, save the world against the gathering darkness that is the Mercer's vile armies?
